3D-Secure

On the Guide-Prague.cz website, 3D-Secure technology is used for the security of payment transactions. The 3D-Secure protocol is the cornerstone of new payment services created by the VISA and MasterCard card associations to improve the validation of payments over the Internet. 3D-Secure is secure authentication technology using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption for the transfer of information and enquiries among participants with the aim of verifying the cardholder for online purchases and protecting card information on transmission over the Net.

Verified by VISA is used for the implementation of the 3D-Secure protocol for VISA cards. MasterCard SecureCode is used for the implementation of MasterCards.
MasterCard SecureCode Verified by VISA
These two logos guarantee that payments are made in accordance with standards drawn up by MasterCard and VISA.

3DSecure authentication

Some cards implement 3DSecure authentication - the card is protected by an additional password. When paying by such card, you have to enter not only the number and validity of the card, but also this password. By this additional password, the card is protected against the possibility of abuse during the internet payment.

The benefits of 3D-Secure for customers include

  • High transaction security and transparency
  • A simpler method of ordering and paying for services
  • The high trustworthiness of business partners who support 3D-Secure
  • Customer authentication during the transaction enhances security
  • All communications take place directly between the customer and Česká spořitelna without an intermediary
  • A global solution supported by the VISA and MasterCard card associations
